The DO Magazine

Publication Design

This was a magazine redesign project, which I took a step further to be magazine creation as I based it off of a website. The DO website consists of articles for Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (or DOs) by DOs. The purpose of the redesign was to focus not only on DOs as the audience, but expand it to the average person — potential patients who have never heard of osteopathic medicine, or who are trying it as a last resort, or those who do not trust or like doctors in general. Overall, it is meant to make DOs and their work more accessible to the average person. The cover design mimics the experience of discovering osteopathic medicine: intriguing but unclear at first, exciting once you start diving in. The overall feel of the magazine is meant to be energizing, because many of these people are fatigued from years of reading medical handouts and journals, while others are wary in the first place.
